Freshly’s peppercorn steak is served alongside some mash potatoes, beans and carrots.
Like all Freshly meals, it came fully cooked; and gluten free. After heating for about 3 minutes in the microwave, and letting it stand for 2 more, I dug in.
The meal was heated through well, and fairly easy to un-package and plate up. For convenience it’s hard to beat it.
The steak & mashed potatoes got a bit messy/mixed together with the sauce, but the flavor was all still good. The mash was creamy, well seasoned and flavorful. The steak had clear grill marks, was tender and was also tasted good. However, it was cooked to well done, quite a bit more than I like; but fully expected for what I’m ordering.
The veggies where also much better than anything I get canned or frozen at the grocery store; but not as good as fresh cooked at home.
So, while a home cooked version would taste much better; there’s no way you can do a home cooked version in 3 minutes. And Freshly’s, certain beats out any grocery store aisle version.
